Yumi™ Lash Lift FAQ
1.What is a YUMI™ Keratin Lash Lift and YUMI™ Brow Lamination?
A YUMI™ Lash Lift is the enhancement of your natural lashes. The lashes are lifted and then individually sculpted onto a silicone pad. The customized pad determines the amount of curve and lift that will suit the natural length of the lashes. Some clients love a very dramatic lift and others want a more natural look. Once the lashes are adhered to the silicone, products are carefully applied only to the lashes. Upon completion of the lift, the YUMI™ tint is applied. The colour molecules penetrate into the lashes and produce a beautiful mascara effect. The procedure is designed with 100% comfort in mind. The end results are gorgeous and carefree lashes.
A YUMI™ Brow Lamination is the enhancement of your natural eyebrows. The lamination is achieved by sculpting each brow hair in an upwards direction. Product is applied to the brows, followed by the YUMI™ tint. The final result is amazing! Many compare this look to the trendy micro-needling procedure. But no needles or imitation pigments injected into the skin required!
2.Is the YUMI™ Keratin Lash Lift procedure and product safe?
The procedure is structured and designed with your comfort and safety in mind. The product is formaldehyde free and does not contain parabens or harsh ingredients. All the YUMI™ products are individually packaged for one time use only. Every technician must attend a training and certification class with a Master Trainer. All certified YUMI™ technicians are required to work within the guidelines and standards of Health Canada. Therefore, we take all measures to provide a clean and sterile environment.
3.Who shouldn’t have a YUMI™ Keratin Lash Lift or Brow Lamination?
Unfortunately, not everyone is eligible for this treatment. Your health and wellbeing is the number one priority, the procedure is not suitable for those who:
- Are prone to any form of eye disease/infection
- Have mild or severe allergies to tint. However, you may have the lift and opt out of the tint.
- Suffer from chronic back or neck pain and cannot lay down for the time required to complete the treatments.
- Cannot keep their eyes closed for a long period of time
- Overactive tear ducts
- Extremely sensitive to touch
- Are expectant or nursing individuals
- Are under the age of 18 (unless parental/guardian consent is provided)
We reserve the right to refuse treatment to anyone who displays any of the symptoms, conditions or age requirement listed above.
4.How do I prepare for the YUMI™ Keratin Lash lift and Brow Lamination?
- The night before remove all eye and brow makeup. Clean your lashes and brows with a mild, oil free cleanser.
- Do not use oil based makeup removers to clean your lashes or brows prior to the application.
- Do not apply any mascara or brow products on the day of your appointment. I want to spend time working on perfecting your lashes and brows rather than removing your beauty products.
- Do not curl your lashes. Straight lashes work better.
- If you wear contact lenses, wear glasses instead to your appointment or bring a lens case and remove them when you arrive to your appointment.
5.Are there any YUMI™ Keratin Lash Lift and Brow Lamination aftercare rules?
Just one! Do not wet or wash your lashes/brows for 48 hours following the treatment. The product requires this time to reach its maximum lifting potential for the lashes and setting potential for the brows. During this 48-hour period, please avoid the use of eye makeup, saunas, swimming, steam rooms, tears, etc. Any moisture will weaken the YUMI™ product.
After the 48 hours, you’re free to splash around and apply your favorite beauty products! -

Tiny strokes of colour are created to resemble fine hairs that create a more desirable brow shape.
3.What are powder brows?
Powder Brows, also called Ombre Brows, is a technique under the semi permanent makeup category. Powder Brows leave you with a soft, misty, “powdered” makeup look on the eyebrows. Typically, the tails of the brow are darker, and fading to light, giving it a very subtle look. Over time, the pigment fades leaving you lighter at the front of the brow and darker towards the tail.
4.What are combination brows?
Combination Brows, is the process of combining the Microblading and powder brow techniques. Combination brows give you the natural shading of the Powder Brow from middle to the tail of the brows , with hair strokes of Microblading at the front pf the brows .

Results typically last from 1 to 3 years.

6.Does permanent makeup hurt?
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Numbing cream will be applied prior to the application and this greatly desensitizes the area, making the procedure painless.
7.How long does it take to heal?
- You can return to your daily routine immediately after your appointment! However, avoid getting your brows wet, working out, or using brow makeup for the first 7 days.
- Your results will vary depending on skin type, lifestyle and the immediate and long-term aftercare of your new tattoo. You may notice some light scabbing as your brows continue to heal. the colour will reduce by 30-50 percent.
- Patchiness and lightness can be perfected during your second session. Allow 30 days for your brows to heal completely inside and out .
- Please follow the after care instructions carefully and remember to book your touch up appointment after 6~8 weeks from your initial Appointment .
- Please try to schedule your events accordingly.
8.What to expect for healing schedule like ?
Eye Brows
- DO NOT expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. This is a 2 step, sometimes multiple step process. It takes time.
- 1-2 days- What you see is about 20-60% darker, bolder, and more solid than what your healed result will present. There may be minimal swelling; however as the eyebrow area typically does not retain much fluid, swelling will be limited. The top layers of skin will begin to shed about day 3-5 and you will see a loss of color. This is normal.
- 3 days – our eyebrows may begin to itch and the pigment may appear somewhat raised. DON’T SCRATCH THEM!
- 4-7 days – Your skin is now in rapidly exfoliating and if left alone, will shed evenly. The color under the skin will continue to appear light until the epidermis becomes more transparent.
- Your brow tattoo will take up to 6-8 weeks to fully heal. When the scabbing comes off the hair strokes may seem faint this is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the hair strokes will become clearer.
- 30-40 days -Your eyebrows have had a full cycle of cellular regeneration in which the tattoo has now become part of the dermis, seen under the epidermis.
- Not everyones hair stoke brows can heal clean and crisp. Hair strokes for oilier skin types tend to heal more solid and powdery while drier skin types tend to heal more crisp and defined. Also for those who bleed more may tend to need more touchups as the blood pushes the pigment out while we tattoo.

- We work with you during this process to achieve your desired look along with the most flattering shape for your face and do not start the procedure until you approve.
- Pigment colour is chosen to match your natural brow colour and will be shown to you before we start.
- Once the eyebrows are penciled in, we draw an outline with a surgical marker. This acts as a guide while we are doing the procedure.
- Once we have the outline, we scratch the surface of the skin and apply the topical anesthetic allow the anesthetic to penetrate and numb the area. Once the area is frozen, we will begin tattooing.
- The microblading needles are dipped in pigment and small strokes are made in the skin. The pigment is deposited under the dermis. This creates the tattoo.

Please don’t do anything to your brows before coming to your appointment. We can clean up your brows after we’ve decided on the shape and before we start the procedure.

Yes , You may come in with how you normally draw in your brows, but bring samples of brow shapes you like to the appointment as it also give the artist an idea how you normally like your eyebrows .
14.Does it fade or require any maintenance?
Over time, your permanent makeup will fade due to many factors such as: natural skin exfoliation, sun exposure, medications and the use of creams/chemicals. A good indication of needing maintenance is when you start having to add to your permanent makeup with pencil or other cosmetics.
